The apostle Paul wrote these words to the church in Rome in the first century, and they still apply to us today: For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness. In other words, church is not a spectator sport, nor is it religious activity. By God's design there are countless ways to get involved in the life of a local church, and they don't have to be in an "official" capacity either. Keep your eyes open and your heart sensitive to what's happening around you and expect God to show you how you can help others and become an integral part of the body of Christ. At Living Rock Church our desire is to see your life built on the Rock of Jesus Christ, and then for you to inspire others to do the same. We have designed three key pathways for this to happen:
In this fast-paced cookie-cutter society where you are often treated as just another number or consumer, we believe the Lord Jesus Christ wants you to experience life the way He meant it to be lived -- in a community of believers in Christ where you can get anchored in the truth, experience authentic, loving relationships with Christ and His family, and have the joy of being gifted and used by Him to change the lives of those around you. If you have ideas or questions about getting involved, drop us a line on the Contact Us page, or talk to Pastor Jeremiah or John Kirk at one of our gatherings. |
